Come as you are???

Living by the Word of God- Phrase often used and not found in the bible
I saw this video today and then I read the comments in the video. I was trying to figure out why people kept saying come as you are.I believe the Lord is saying is that we can only be changed by the word of God. We cannot change ourselves only the Word gives wisdom to do so.The phrase “come as you are” if used to summarize however does not mean stay as you are. The lord tell us to do these things (only a few are listed, please read the scriptures to get more details):
Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Isaiah 55:1 ESV
“Come, everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and he who has no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.
James 4:8 ESV
Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.
Isaiah 1:18 ESV “Come now, let us reason together, says the Lord: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool.
So why is it that we believe we can come to the lord half naked, but to a job interview with our best clothes on. People who do not have clothes, homeless etc, after they come to church should be given clothes to wear.  The phrase come as you are should refer to the person we are, a sinner, broken, lost & confused, angry, resentful, etc and be transformed by the Word of God to become vessels for the Lord to do His Will.  Deny yourself and take up His cross and follow Him.

Lord look upon me with gladness

After praying to God I realized something. In my sin God cannot look upon me... God cannot look upon sin which is why anytime someone wanted to come into Gods  presence there had to be a sacrifice to cover them. God loves us so much that he took the purest of a sacrifice when He gave Jesus to us. Not only did He want us to be covered with blood but the purest blood of all. The sacrificial lamb that would not need to be sacrifice every time you committed a sin. But that covers all sin in your live. I'm so overwhelmed at how much God loves me. And welcomes me into his presence.

T.A.G. Presents!

Christ Like Love

The Holy Spirit led me to a video today that literally touched my heart. How can we as Christians say that we are that way and treat others like they are not also a child of God. Why do we disdain someone else because of the lifestyle they live or their belief. The term Christian does not match our hearts. Our job as Christians is not to change that person, but to love that person. How do you love someone? How do you love someone that you do not agree with? I understand the definition of Love but how do you truly love someone?

A Living Stone Chosen and Precious

Nov 30th, 2012 12:55pm
I thank you Lord for revealing this. I thank you Holy Spirit for guiding me. As we come to Christ rejected by man but chosen and precious by the sight of God we will not be put to shame. Crying out to the Lord should not be shameful but a release that He will take care of your pain and deliver you and save you.Even in your times of joy and not much suffering acknowledge that you need a savior. Even if things seem awesome in the world and your rich and you have the latest clothing. Stop what you are doing and acknowledge that you do not provide for yourself but the Lord does. God provides your everyday needs even if you don’t believe in him. For you still eat the bread and drink the water that God gives you daily.
1 Peter 2:4-12
As you come to him, a living stone rejected by men but in the sight of God chosen and precious, you yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. For it stands in Scripture:
“Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone,
    a cornerstone chosen and precious,
and whoever believes in him will not be put to shame.”
So the honor is for you who believe, but for those who do not believe,
“The stone that the builders rejected
    has become the cornerstone,”[a]
and
“A stone of stumbling,
    and a rock of offense.”
They stumble because they disobey the word, as they were destined to do.
But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation,a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. 10 Once you were not a people, but now you are God’s people; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.
11 Beloved, I urge you as sojourners and exiles to abstain from the passions of the flesh, which wage war against your soul. 12 Keep your conduct among the Gentiles honorable, so that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day of visitation.

Tear Down the Club... Literally

Nov 30th, 2012 8:36pm

Lets be real, we have all been clubbing and partying. Some of our funniest nights have been seeing people fall on their face, or do crazy stuff like chug a beer. But is clubbing all life has to offer? No. the bible tells us that clubbing and partying is wrong. Romans 13:12-13 says “The night is almost gone; the day of salvation will soon be here. So remove your dark deeds like dirty clothes, and put on the shining armor of right living. Because we belong to the day, we must live decent lives for all to see. Don’t participate in the darkness of wild parties and drunkenness, or in sexual promiscuity and immoral living, or in quarreling and jealousy. This is not because God does not want us to have fun or hang out with our friends. He wants us to use wisdom and be an example for others. We ruin our own testimony by hanging out in these places, drinking, and engaging in ungodly behavior. By being at bars and clubs it may appear that we condone drunkenness and partying.” We put no stumbling block in anyone’s path, so that our ministry will not be discredited.”- (2 Corinthians 6:3)
Hanging out in clubs and bars only leads to temptation and destruction. I used to do the club scene too a lot! There is nothing there for us any more. There is no positive influence or encouragement found in these places only drunkenness, dirty dancing, drugs, offensive music, fighting, lies, and regret. The more you spend time with Jesus the more you will find that you will not even desires these things any more.  The more you read the bible the more you hunger for His word and His love. You know in your heart that you are not called to be in those places. Jesus is coming soon we must be prepared at all times.
