Come as you are???

Living by the Word of God- Phrase often used and not found in the bible
I saw this video today and then I read the comments in the video. I was trying to figure out why people kept saying come as you are.I believe the Lord is saying is that we can only be changed by the word of God. We cannot change ourselves only the Word gives wisdom to do so.The phrase “come as you are” if used to summarize however does not mean stay as you are. The lord tell us to do these things (only a few are listed, please read the scriptures to get more details):
Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Isaiah 55:1 ESV
“Come, everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and he who has no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.
James 4:8 ESV
Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.
Isaiah 1:18 ESV “Come now, let us reason together, says the Lord: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool.
So why is it that we believe we can come to the lord half naked, but to a job interview with our best clothes on. People who do not have clothes, homeless etc, after they come to church should be given clothes to wear.  The phrase come as you are should refer to the person we are, a sinner, broken, lost & confused, angry, resentful, etc and be transformed by the Word of God to become vessels for the Lord to do His Will.  Deny yourself and take up His cross and follow Him.

Lord look upon me with gladness

After praying to God I realized something. In my sin God cannot look upon me... God cannot look upon sin which is why anytime someone wanted to come into Gods  presence there had to be a sacrifice to cover them. God loves us so much that he took the purest of a sacrifice when He gave Jesus to us. Not only did He want us to be covered with blood but the purest blood of all. The sacrificial lamb that would not need to be sacrifice every time you committed a sin. But that covers all sin in your live. I'm so overwhelmed at how much God loves me. And welcomes me into his presence.
